OUR JOURNEY

Hike + Camp was created from a simple idea: the outdoor lifestyle should not end when the hike does.

Built through a collaboration between Starved Rock Hikers and Camp Aramoni, Hike + Camp brings together trail-ready gear, camping essentials, outdoor apparel, and curated provisions designed for weekends outside.

Just minutes from Starved Rock State Park in downtown Utica, the store is a basecamp for hikers, campers, weekend travelers, park visitors, and anyone looking to make more of their time outdoors.

From hiking essentials and camping supplies to thoughtful gifts, provisions, and local adventure resources, every detail is selected with purpose.

MATTHEW KLEIN

Matthew spends much of his time exploring the outdoors, whether that's hiking local trails, photographing landscapes, or planning the next adventure. Winter is his favorite season in Starved Rock Country, when frozen waterfalls, snow-covered canyons, and quieter trails offer a completely different experience. A fun fact: after spending so much time in the parks, he's lost track of how many times he's visited every trail and overlook at Starved Rock and Matthiessen.

Kyle spends much of his free time outdoors, whether he's hiking a trail, fishing a quiet stream, kayaking a river, skiing in the winter, or photographing wildlife and landscapes along the way. Fall is his favorite time of year, when cooler temperatures and changing leaves make every outdoor adventure a little better. A fun fact: despite his love of exploring new places, he's never been outside the United States.

Stephanie loves slowing down and noticing the little things outdoors, whether she's foraging for mushrooms, tending her garden, hiking a favorite trail, or taking a scenic drive through the countryside. One of her favorite spots in Starved Rock Country is Council Overhang, a hidden gem that never gets old. Wherever Stephanie goes, there's a good chance her bulldog, Meatball, is tagging along too—she's become something of a mascot at Camp Aramoni.

Olivia enjoys staying active outdoors, whether that means going for a run, exploring local farmers markets, or hitting the slopes during the winter. Fall is her favorite time of year to get outside, especially around Starved Rock Country. When she's not working, there's a good chance you'll find her at a concert somewhere, enjoying live music.

KERRI HERMANN

Kerri is always up for an adventure, whether it's hiking to a waterfall, floating down a river, exploring a new campground, or chasing down the next great road trip. When she's not on the trail, you'll probably find her taking photos, searching for mushrooms and wild plants, or soaking up the sun on a warm rock. Her favorite local spots are St. Louis Canyon and Buffalo Rock, especially during the fall hiking season.
